Gentlemen of Quality

I like these three. Collectively, i think they'd make the perfect boyfriend :). Congrats to Wale, Drake and Cudi for being "gangsta killers" and the hottest new hip hop heads of the year. Check them out in the December issue of GQ magazine.

What in the Warhol Hell?!?!?!?

O.O.C!!!!!!! Inspiration is on one billion right now. I just pumped out 8 new sketches thanks to 'Bad Romance' alone. Now, 'Video Phone' with Beyonce?!?!? Wow. And if I'm not mistaking, the Fame Monster disc drops Tuesday and Beyonce is allegedly releasing a live DVD of the I AM tour Friday!

Give Me 2 Pair, I Want 2 Pair...

Just as I was contemplating placing my Dunks and Chucks into retirement after being hit on by one too many prepubescent boys and old pervs, I came across this. Ebay store Soleman's Shop keeps a unique stock of kicks at affordable prices. These babies were only running for $45 (+ $15 s & h) last time I checked. The store is based out of L.A., so delivery time shouldn’t be too unbearable.

here's the pairs that im crushing on

The DIA gives us...Fashion

The Detroit Institute of Arts finally has something I am DYING to see: an Avedon Exhibit.

Richard Avedon's work is legendary. The Bronx-born photographer was infamously known for his work in the fashion world and pop culture but he wasn't afraid to tackle provacative issues such as the Civil Rights Movement and the destruction of the Berlin Wall. He was the muse of the iconic Funny Face, ironically starring his own muse Audrey Hepburn. I can't wait to be inspired by this collection. Kudos to whoever was genius enough to bring this to fashions' deprived children of Detroit.

Shock me like an electric eel

I'm one of those people who hates being the last to know things, but that seems to be how it plays out for me in most cases. Today while checking out one of my new favorite fashion sites, I found this little tidbit of info:

"Every year, twice a year, Henri Bendel holds an “open-see” basically a big old open casting call, fashion and beauty style. If you’re looking for your big break (Anna Sui and Todd Oldham got theirs here), the next one is happening this Friday, October 23rd.

Just be prepared to wait in a long-ass line. The buyers will be seeing prospective designers starting at 9 am on a first come, first serve basis, and you must be in line by noon to have a shot.

They are currently looking for merchandise for Spring 2010 in all the categories offered up at the story—from cosmetics and fragrance to bags, belts, hair accessories, and jewelry. Even gift-y items are fair game but leave your men’s and women’s apparel and shoe designs at home.

For more info go here or call 212-904-7992"

OMGeezers! How could I have gone this long without knowing about this? It is now my personal goal in life to take on this opportunity!

For the Love of Labels

Ladies and gents, we are now one step closer to seperating the reals and the fakes- well at least as far as designer goods are concerned. LVMH (the uber luxury brand that owns everything from Louis Vuitton and Moet Hennessy, to Marc Jacobs and Sephora) just won about $32 milli in a lawsuit filed against two web companies that allow the selling of knockoffs. Its about time! I swear i've walked past $10 boutiques with "D&G" belt buckles and "Prada" bags in the window like its perfectly legal to sell fake labels. Don't even get me started on the fake denim and sneakers craze. My point is, if you cant afford the the real deal why bother with a phony? Even if no one else knows its an imposter, you do. And what does that say about you????? Seriously, i'm curious.

I wana cut & dye

I am completely in love with all of the risk taking going on these days in the dome area. I've always thought it was a bit ridiculous to be so attached to lengthy hair, but then again i've never had it so what the hell do i know, right? Last year i decided to go natural and i love it. I get to play with color and not worrying about getting a "chemical haircut". i get to iron my hair more often free of guilt. I have had to threaten a couple of white girls for their carelessness in handling a water bottle near my tresses, but other than that its been smooth sailing. I plan to be a cropped, caramel-ish blonde by the end of this month. I can't help but be inspired by these ladies:

I almost jumped on the bandwagon after seeing how dope she looked with her baldy.

I love these girls. So NYC, its ridiculous. Cuts like these make me proud to be a hairstylist.

The chickens are here, how fabulous....

I just got the new Marie Claire with my girl Beyonce on the cover and i ran across a jewelry line called Pretty Young Thing. Niiiccceee. Very feminine, vintagey and kinda one-offish. The lines latest collection, 'The chickens are here, how fabulous?' is dope. See for yourself.

FYI...Boys Suck.And so does Facebook.

...Other than that, my sister just ran into one of my old besties, Paul, from my atlanta days and it got me thinkin about my next move. Evvvvveeerrrybody knows how desperate i am to get to nyc this year, but im starting to really miss the "a". im pretty sure things will be alot easier (as far as money, work, and rent) in atlanta, but i feel like i need to go to nyc right now, or never. i'm young, childless and still willing to live with 5 roomates in a tiny apartment that im paying way too much rent for. These days wont last too much longer.
I need a pic of zoe kravitz strolling fabulously through the Village to help me refocus.

Its been a long time coming......

I haven't just been pissing my life away for these last couple of months, I've actually been planting seeds. I got my first paid gig as a makeup artist (for Farouk at a hair show last month) and I accidentally started a headpiece collection. Out of boredom, I made a couple of headbands for myself out of feathers, bows, pearls and rhinestones and to my surprise, people liked them. I've had a couple orders so far, so I'mma keep slinging these boyz and see how far I can push it. Pics to come very soon.

The weather is starting to warm up a bit, thank the lord. I love the change of the seasons, I'm always at my creative "best" during these times.
